Tyrolean Traverse

The Tyrolean traverse is a team activity very popular for staff parties and corporate events.

The Tyrolean traverse involves a team of people building a type of bridge across a ravine out of ropes and specialist climbing equipment.

The Tyrolean traverse is used by mountaineers in the Alps and Himalayan ranges of mountains to cross-big ravines safely with a climbing party.

Mountain rescue teams who need to rescue people from situations where crossing raging rivers is necessary also commonly use it.

During the session you will learn lots of techniques in tensioning ropes, using climbing equipment in different ways and many useful knots.

After the group have finished building the Tyrolean traverse they will cross over the ravine one by one wearing sit harnesses.

No prior experience is necessary as our team of experts will be on hand to advise you and ensure your safety at all times.

£40 per day per person (includes 2 x 3 hour activity sessions and a packed lunch)
